Alyeska Resort is never shy of keeping the town of Girdwood busy, and February holds no exceptions. With more than 16 feet of snow since the beginning of December, this quaint little ski town has been lively with powder hounds, winter enthusiasts and concert-goers alike. From ski races to craft nights, night skiing, live music and winter festivals, February is gearing up to be a hoppin’ month out in Girdwood.

Town League, Girdwood’s local ski and snowboard race league, will be battling it out every Thursday night in the month of February, and will finish up the night with free music each night.  Join us on Feb. 11 for Jon Dykstra and Tony Restivo from the Photonz, Milo Matthews on the Feb. 18 and the Eternal Cowboys to wrap up the last Thursday of the month on the 25th. All of these shows are free so don’t miss out.

If you think that is all the music the Sitz will be jamming out to this month, think again. We have some headliner bands each weekend coming to rock the Sitztine Chapel. Bring your sweetheart out to Alyeska the to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a romantic meal up at Seven Glaciers before coming down the Tram to watch one of the all-time Girdwood favorite, Great American Taxi, who will be playing both Friday and Saturday night. Get prepared for the Irish holiday by getting your Irish jig on to the Young Dubliners. These boys are back to get your feet moving on Feb. 19 and 20. and are always known to put on an amazing show. Tickets for both Great American Taxi and Young Dubliners are on sale now through the Sitzmark website or through the Tram ticket office. The last weekend in February we host Telepalooza, which is a celebration of the telemark community that includes clinics, fun races, demos, beacon park games, live music and lots of fun.

The North Face Vertical Challenge will also be taking place on the last Friday of the month, so if you think you’ve got what it takes to battle the best for total vertical feet in one day, get signed up today! Be sure to stick around after the mountain festivities for another local favorite, the Hope Social Club, formerly known as The Sociables. Melissa Mitchell and the crew never fail to get the party started, so come on down to end the month right in some proper Girdwood music fashion.

We at Alyeska know that sometimes it can be tough… you really want to go to a show, but you are worried about the commute back home after the show. We have got you covered!
