It’s not too late to have some Halloween fun this weekend!

Halloween_Haunted_House_Spooky_Town_Computer_Wallpaper-1140x600-1jpgGet your creepy groove going with these Saturday celebrations. And while the Frightening 4K might be full, don’t fear: You can still come out and enjoy the costumed craziness and then wander Downtown for some trick-or-treating fun.

Here are a few options for celebrating this awesome Day of the Dead on Oct. 31, when dressing up in a goofy costume is totally acceptable:

Frightening 4K: 11 a.m., Fourth Avenue, Downtown. Enjoy and out-and-back race in costume and see if you can win a prize for your creativity. There will be treats at every kilometer along the route. Water and sports drink will be available at the finish.

Trick or Treat Street: noon-4 p.m., Downtown. A free  event for families and children to trick or treat from business to business in a safe and friendly environment. There will be activities throughout downtown including face painting, Halloween cookie decorating at the Hotel Captain Cook, costume contests, horse-drawn hay rides and more.

Zoo Boo: Stations will be open from 5-9 p.m. at The Alaska Zoo for kids (and adults!) to score some treats. There will be activities all over the zoo, and a bonfire for warming toes. The entire zoo will be decorated in Halloween spirit, so bring your camera to photograph your trick-or-treaters. Buy a warm drink or meal in the coffee shop or stop by the gift shop. Be sure to come in costume. Tickets are $6 per zoo pass holder and $8 per nonpass holder. Questions? Contact development director Jill Myer at jmyer@alaskazoo.org.

Halloween Nature Walk: 2 p.m., Eagle River Nature Center. The event is ideal for families with children, who are invited to visit a series of fun and educational Halloween-themed stations set up along the Rodak Nature Trail (3/4 mile round-trip). Dress for the weather – and in costume – for this free event. Parking is $5 for nonmembers (ernc.org).
