Description

Come enjoy a weekend of herbal medicine at Manitoba Cabin with Amy Seifert, a Fairbanks-based Herbalist! The course will include an introduction to the philosophy and practice of herbal medicine, simple botany and plant identification, and techniques for ethical harvesting and storage. All students will have the opportunity to make a tincture, herbal oil, salve, infusion and decoction, and there will be plenty of time spent finding, discussing, and gathering plants.

The course will kick off with a potluck at Manitoba Cabin at 6 PM on Friday, June 9th; bring a dish to share and get to know your fellow students for the weekend. All day Saturday will be spent learning about herbal medicine and putting your newfound knowledge into practice in the field. Sunday morning will bring more time spent looking at learning about plants before the course wraps up at 2 pm on Sunday, June 11th.
